In July 2014, Chevron announced production has begun at 
its new Group II Base Oil Plant in Pascagoula, MS. This addition to the refinery produces approximately 25,000 barrels per day of premium base oils, which are used in high-performance lubricants, including motor oils for consumer and commercial uses.
This is the third world-scale base oil plant with a single product slate, which allows Chevron the flexibility to supply its products worldwide.
